News - More Opportunites for EAL Members

Hi Folks,
We at EAL wanted to let you know about 5 more opportunites to learn about or exhibit art.

1. We need 3D entries for our annual show. We only have 3 entries in the 3D category for our upcoming show. We need 5 entries in order to award the 3 cash prizes. If you would like to enter something in 3D, please email vgoudy@mac.com or phone her at 352-357-1307. We'll extend the deadline to Monday to give you time. (we have a meeting on Tuesday to finalize all show details)

2. Richard is still accepting entries for the wine label contest. The red wine label will be vertical and the white will be horizontal. If you have one or two paintings or drawings that you think would make a good label, you should enter the contest. Photograph your work and email it to Richard at: lake.eustis.art.museum@gmail.com
The winning photos will be cropped to roughly 3.5 inches by 4.75 inches and duplicated on the labels of the special vintages being produced for the LEMA ART-A-FARE on March 9 at the Eustis Community Center. (We also hope you might donate the original art to be auctioned at this important fundraiser.)

3. VENDORS WANTED
The city of Eustis is looking for vendors for Family Fun Day
Last year’s Family Fun Day was such a success that we’ve scheduled another for 2017! It is planned for January 28 from 9am to 2pm at Palmetto Point Park. We would love to have you join us - it promises to be a great event with FREE hot air balloon rides, laser tag, pony rides, kite flying, face painting, bounce houses, food, vendors and many more fun activities for families!!

Vendors can rent a space for only $20! I have attached the vendor application and agreement. Deadline for applications is January 25th.

4. VENDORS WANTED:
The Rotary club is sponsoring the CENTRAL FLORIDA DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL on March 11 in Wooton Partk, Tavares. Art and craft vendors can rent a space for $50.
For more information visit www.cfdragonboat.org or contact Rick
Gonzalez at 352-408-3892 or centralfladragonboat@gmail.com
I have attached the application form to this email.

5. More Powertex workshops. We had an interesting demo at our meeting last Saturday by Regine Dossche on Powertex USA products. Some of us are looking forward to the workshop this Saturday to make Figurines. Others of you expressed an interest in the other workshops Regine offers. She also offers a workshop on sculpting with Powertex clay and one on mixed media on canvas with Powertex products. Read more about these workshops and materials at:
www.powertexcreations.com
If you would like EAL to arrange one of these workshops in our area, please email Krysta at: KrystaSmith18@gmail.com

Happy creating,
Marvyn
