Hi Folks,

The meeting on April 9th will include an "ART SWAP". We haven't had one of these for a while so this will be a good time to clean out your studio and bring any art materials you no longer need or use to swap or sell to other members. Unwanted items at the end of the meeting can be donated to LEMA or our school art programs.

We held our annual elections at the March meeting. Past president and life member, Mary Ziegengeist will conduct the installation of officers at the April meeting. Congratulations to Krysta Smith, our new president. I hope everyone will continue to support her as much as I have been supported for the last four years. I am sure she will do a great job. You will note that the position of vice president is vacant. After much careful consideration, Martha has decided to resign from the board due to a heavy load of personal commitments. We will miss her on the board but look forward to seeing her at our meetings. I will be moving into the position of past president and have volunteered to be show chair for the 2017 annual show. In the fall we will look to fill the vacant positions on the executive and committee chairs.

First Friday street parties have been a successful way to promote our club activities as well as those of the Lake Eustis Museum of art. This year we started holding "Battle of the Brushes" at these events which draws a lot of attention from the crowd. Krysta would like to continue these events through the summer but she needs your help. This is an opportunity for you to support the club while having fun and sometimes even selling your work. They are held from 6 - 10 p.m. on the first Friday of every month in downtown Eustis.

October 8th will be our first meeting in the fall. Once again the Lake County Folk festival will be in full swing so our meeting will take place around the outside of the LEMA building. We will hold our third annual "Show and Sell". Every member of the club is welcome to set up a table to sell their art. We have a ready made crowd from the visitors to the folk festival. We encourage all members who do not wish to sell items to visit, pay their dues and perhaps volunteer some time to hand out EAL and LEMA information.

Finally, please note in the newsletter that we have a special anniversary members' show next February. You have nine months to plan and paint or draw an entry for the Historical category. This will be a special, one time category for paintings or drawings based on the history of Eustis.
