EUSTIS ART LEAGUE BOARD MEETING
February 27, 2020
Members present included Verla Goudy, June Longnecker, Marvyn Rivett, Eileen Hinkle, Emma Michaels, Gale Harvey and Mary Ramirez.
There is currently $1573.79 in the EAL bank account including $381 in the education fund.
June moved to give $150 from the education fund to the head start early education program for art supplies and the remainder to the Eustis Middle School art program. Seconded by Mary Ramirez, carried.
Membership stands at 51 including 4 lifetimers.
Marvyn Rivett presented the final budget from the 2020 members show. Total cost to the club was $94.31. We paid $300 for the room at A Dancer’s Place which will be used to provide scholarships to assist students with the cost of their dance lessons. We also paid $50 to Molly Dench, a high school junior to play her Oboe during the reception. She is planning to study music at university. The show also raised $182 for our education fund which will support student art programs in Eustis.
A decision was made to cancel the April meeting because it falls on Easter weekend. It was also decided to book the Art Room for our meeting on October 10th.
It was decided that next year’s meetings will focus on presentations by artists. If members then show an interest in follow up workshops, the club may help facilitate them at a later time.
Elections: the following people accepted nominations for the 2020/2021 season:
President – June Longnecker, Vice President – Eileen Hinkle, Treasurer – Emma Michaels
Elections will be held at the March meeting.
