Hi Folks,
Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a good holiday. Now it's time for art league business again. At the meeting this Saturday Kace Montgomery will talk about drawing and illustration. Kace is a fine art graduate and taught drawing at Lake Sumter College for 8 years. I'm looking forward to this because drawing is my weak point but practicing it helps all the different types of art I do. Bring a pencil and sketchbook to the meeting and you can try some of the exercises Kace will suggest.

Speaking of Drawing, Richard Colvin is teaching a drawing class (and a painting class) at Mt. Dora Center for the Arts. (starts Jan. 8th)

This meeting will be a good opportunity to submit your application to our annual show coming up in February. Dorothy and I will be set up to receive them and your money. If you still have to pay your membership that will be at a separate table. It is very helpful if you can pay membership and show fees separately either by check or cash. I have attached the show application to this email and I will also have extra copies at the meeting. Deadline for show applications is Feb. 1st. If you can't submit your application at the meeting, you can mail it or drop it off to my house in Mt. Dora. (address on the application)

If you need an art fix before the meeting why not come out to the Second Friday "Art In The Alley" in Mt. Dora. Some of the EAL members will have work for sale at the Harper Printmaking Studio table in Royellou Alley from 6 to 9 p.m. (between 5th and 4th streets just east of Donnelly St.) For more information check:

Hope to see you Saturday,
