If you weren't able to make the November meeting of the EAL, you missed a great presentation. At the November 9 meeting, Richard Colvin's presentation on working with a Palette Knife was both entertaining and informative. He began with talking about VALUE and using Opaque media. He demonstrated glazing and layering using both a large brush and eventually a painting knife which he pointed out was often called a palette knife.
You won't want to miss the December meeting because we have another excellent speaker lined up. Paul Smithson is a high school teacher, a musician and a gifted artist. He plans to discuss mixed media, creating his own collage papers, and negative-shape painting. He will also address working with textures, squeegees, and various other tools.
Date: December 14th, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m
Location: Lakeview Room, Eustis Community Center, 601 Northshore Dr., Eustis
(at the corner of Bay St., Bates Ave, and Northshore Drive)
